Safety & Responsible Use

Whippojoy products contain pressurized nitrous oxide (N₂O). They are offered only for lawful culinary food and beverage preparation by adults using compatible pressure-rated equipment.

Do not inhale nitrous oxide

Never inhale directly from a cylinder, charger, balloon, bag, dispenser, hose, or any other device. Intentional inhalation or recreational use can cause severe injury, loss of consciousness, neurological harm, asphyxiation, frostbite, and death. Do not purchase or use this product for intoxication or any unlawful purpose.

Adult purchase

Products are intended for adults. The purchaser must satisfy the minimum age and verification requirements at the delivery destination. New York purchasers must be at least 21 years old and complete required age verification.

Compatible equipment

Use only a regulator, hose, and culinary dispenser specifically designed and pressure-rated for the cylinder format. Never improvise connections or attach incompatible equipment.

Heat and pressure

Keep cylinders away from flames, heat, hot vehicles, direct sunlight, electrical hazards, and sources of ignition. Do not puncture, crush, incinerate, refill, alter, or expose a cylinder to temperatures outside the product label.

Secure handling

Keep out of reach of children and unauthorized persons. Store upright in a cool, dry, ventilated area where the cylinder cannot fall, roll, or be struck. Do not leave the product unattended during use.

Before connecting a cylinder

  • Read the cylinder label and every instruction supplied with the regulator, hose, and dispenser.
  • Confirm that each component is designed for nitrous oxide and rated for the cylinder's pressure and connection type.
  • Inspect the cylinder, valve, regulator, seals, hose, and fittings. Do not use damaged, leaking, corroded, loose, modified, or contaminated equipment.
  • Work in a stable, well-ventilated food-preparation area away from children, customers, traffic, heat, and ignition sources.
  • Never force a fitting. Stop if components do not connect exactly as their manufacturers describe.

During culinary use

  • Keep the cylinder secured and follow the equipment manufacturer's sequence for connection, pressure adjustment, dispensing, depressurization, and disconnection.
  • Do not point a valve, hose, or dispenser toward a person. Avoid skin or eye contact with rapidly expanding gas or cold components.
  • Do not exceed equipment pressure limits. Do not bypass regulators, safety devices, gauges, valves, or seals.
  • Stop use immediately if you hear uncontrolled gas release, smell contamination, see frost in an unexpected location, or notice damage or unusual heat.

Leak, damage, exposure, or emergency

Do not touch, move, connect, disconnect, or transport a cylinder when doing so could put you at risk. Move people away from the area and avoid flames, switches, vehicles, and other ignition or impact hazards. If there is an uncontrolled release, fire, injury, loss of consciousness, breathing problem, or other immediate danger, call 911 and follow instructions from emergency responders. Anyone concerned about possible nitrous oxide exposure should contact a qualified healthcare provider or Poison Control in the United States at 1-800-222-1222.

Storage, transport, and disposal

Store and transport the product only as allowed by the label, carrier, and applicable law. Keep the valve protected and the cylinder secured against movement. Do not place a cylinder in household trash, curbside recycling, a fire, or an unauthorized return shipment. Ask the product manufacturer, an approved hazardous-material carrier, or the local solid-waste authority for disposal or recycling instructions appropriate to the cylinder's condition and location.

Purchasing and transfer restrictions

Do not buy, provide, resell, or transfer nitrous oxide to a minor, an intoxicated person, or anyone who indicates an intent to inhale or misuse it. Local and state requirements can change and may be stricter than this store policy. You are responsible for confirming that purchase, possession, delivery, use, and any later transfer are lawful at your location.
